Microscopic photograpy

Ever seen Mycobacterium leprae before? You have now: the dark red rods are leprosy bacteria from testing a new patient. He has a very high level of infection and will be placed on special antibiotics for two years. This was the first picture taken when we were trying out the special new microscope in the lab.
